The Maremma Park - secondary routes

A5/A6 – (Faunistic/Forestry)

Length: 5 km

Duration: 3 hours with guide service, 1-2 hours independently

Start of route: at the bottom of the town of Alberese

Entrance fee prices:
Full: 6,00 euro per person - reduction** 4,00 euro per person.
** reduction: groups of 20 people and more, over 60 years, children up to 14 years.
Characteristics: two short teaching itineraries with introduction to the Park itself. The walk allows one to cross a beautiful cork wood (oak cork) where you can admire fallow deer. The forestry area allows one to learn about the arboreal and shrub life which make up the Mediterranean scrubland (macchia)

A7 – (Foce del Fiume Ombrone) the river Ombrone estuary

Length: 4,5 km

Duration: 3 hours with guide service, 1-2 hours independently.
Difficulty: none
Start of route: from the seashore of Alberese, near the car park area.
Entrance fee prices: free entrance.
Characteristics: the itinerary shows some of the important characteristics of the Maremma plains: the river estuary, the marshlands, the results of man’s work in the Maremma with the drainage canal systems.
Note: the end section of the itinerary, which is made up of a wooden footbridge to the bird observation hut, is closed at the moment for repairs.
Note: Itinerary A7 is, at the moment, the only route which can be done on bike.
