The Ports enhance the economy of the area and act as important tourist spots.

Porto Santo Stefano looks out onto the bay which is dominated by the mighty piers of the antique Spanish fortification.

In the Summer many boats dock in the nearby Cala Galera.

The town centre of Porto Santo Stefano extends like a terrace across the port.  From here you can catch a ferry to the island of Giglio.

Porto Ercole was founded according to legend by the mythical Hercules, and is where Caravaggio died in 1610.  Even today the exclusive tourist centre is dominated from above by the form of the Forte Stella.
